A March 2017 to December 2018 migration centred on better document management and more flexible office and remote working.

Starting point

Modernise the workplace without imposing one device or workflow on everyone.

Stanhope’s document system, workplace devices, corporate email and other software all needed attention. The challenge was to modernise them together while recognising that an office-based employee, an external worker and a mobile colleague did not work in the same way.

01

More than a software replacement

Replacing the document system alone would have left the wider problem untouched. Email, software and workplace hardware also needed to change, with procurement, installation, training and support coordinated across several providers. A delay or mismatch in one workstream could disrupt the others, so the programme needed a single view from employee requirements through to post-implementation support.

02

Coordinating systems and people

From March 2017 to December 2018, BNR coordinated the connected workstreams rather than treating the document system, devices and user adoption as separate purchases. Core systems were migrated, new computers were supplied and configured, and secure document access was made available for office and remote work. A specialist third-party training company helped users make the transition, with BNR continuing support after implementation.

03

Flexible working in practice

The migration supported approximately 51 to 100 users. Staff gained secure access to documents from the office and remote locations, making more flexible working practical. Stanhope also reported a better experience with the upgraded document-management system, while the training programme helped people adjust to the wider change.
