Starting point

Strengthen entrance control as access became more open.

Broadway Casino changed from members-only entry to general admission. With members of the public able to enter without first presenting themselves to reception, the casino reassessed how it identified staff, selected guests and people requiring security or safeguarding attention at the point of arrival.

01

Losing the reception checkpoint

Moving from members-only entry to general admission removed the reception check that had helped control access. The casino still needed to recognise staff, selected members, known cheats, people of interest and patrons who had voluntarily self-excluded. Another camera alone would not solve that problem. Live images had to be checked quickly, useful matches routed to the right employees and each event retained for review.

02

Connecting cameras and alerts

DPM Systems Ltd delivered the complete solution in 2019. HD network cameras fed a dedicated biometric server, where faces could be compared in real time with authorised image templates. Positive matches generated alerts for relevant staff. DPM supplied the software and hardware, completed installation and configuration, trained users and remained available for technical support.

03

Earlier warning for security

Broadway Casino reported better identification of excluded or barred individuals and faster alerts to its security team. Staff no longer had to rely solely on recognising every relevant person themselves, and the system operated reliably in the live casino environment. Project material prepared in May 2023 recorded that the solution was still in use at that time.

Relevant BNR capability today

BNR retains the integration knowledge behind this biometric work.

BNR can assess camera placement, alert routes, watchlist controls, audit requirements and how facial recognition should fit an organisation’s existing security process.
